1.3 Joining the department

Joining the department is fairly easy. The first step to your career in the RCFR is to send in an application for the RCFR in #apply. Once you are approved into the RCFR, you must either wait for a training to be hosted, or ask a Fire/EMS Commander+ to host one. Please do not abuse the asking privilege. You can choose from three basic training paths for your career in the RCFR: Firefighter, Paramedic, or FireMedic (FF/EMT-P). Choosing the Firefighter track means being certified in BLS and Firefighting; Paramedic means you are a certified EMT-P Paramedic. And finally FireMedic allows you to fulfill both Fire and EMS duties. Once you are trained, you are free to go on team and respond to calls. Once Staff or Department Administration believes you are ready, you may be eligible for the Fire/EMS Officer Class. This prepares you for the field work and responsibilities of a Supervisor. Additional Certifications you may attain through out your career in the RCFR include: HazMat Ops, Technical Rescue, Water Rescue/Dive Squad, Combat Medicine for those who are in SWAT/SERT/SRU, as well as potentially Wildland Firefighting.

Any questions you may have regarding the RCFR may be DMed to @Walker, Sean#3889 or @tksg3mer#5110, or use the channel #contact-staff on the Discord server.

1.4 Uniform Policy

The Uniform policy is fairly simple. The following must be followed at all times. If you do not adhere to these guidelines, you will have disciplinary action taken against you.
  • No Packages on team
  • Males must wear short hair, with little facial hair
  • Females must wear their hair either in a bun or short as well
  • No Shoulder, Back, Chest or Head accessories. Baseball caps and Fire Helmets are allowed.
  • Sleek sunglasses are allowed for EMS and Supervisors

The only uniforms you should be wearing are the ones found in the RCFR Team Uniform locker or the Approved Uniform Trello. You may clear uniforms with or direct any questions to @Walker, Sean#3889.

1.5 Our apparatus

The RCFR Engine. This is the primary response vehicle for all fire, vehicle collision, BLS calls.

The RCFR Heavy Rescue. The Heavy Rescue is called out for technical rescues, large vehicle collisions, HazMat, as well as water-related calls (Dive Squad).

The RCFR Tower/Ladder. The Tower is called out for high rise fires, assisting in technical rescues, and to assist in reaching areas you can’t normally reach.

The RCFR Pumper. The pumper is rarely called out, as the city has plenty of fire hydrants, and the suburb fires can usually be extinguished with the water engines carry.
The GMC Ambulance. The GMC Ambulance is the primary ALS unit for the RCFR. It is equipped with basic medical supplies and technology, and is thus called out less then the BLS ambulances. The International Ambulance. This is the RCFR’s BLS Unit; however some are ALS. This is called out for most medical calls and transports.
The EMS Supervisor Explorer. Operated by EMS Supervisor+, carries BLS supplies and may also be used as a Rapid Response.

The RCFR Tahoe. Operated by Fire Supervisor+, and is the primary command vehicle. It is called out for all HazMat calls, as well as any larger scenes/calls.

The RCFR F150 is a rarely used vehicle. If it is used, it will be used as an Off-Road vehicle for smaller brush fires, or as a Traffic/Support Unit for calls.
